Umami Seasoning Blend

Umami is the latest flavor profile of the tongue, meaning rich depth or savory.  The well known flavor profiles of the tongue (salt, sweet, sour, and bitter) now have the company of umami; rich foods that bring a meaty depth or essence.  Our umami seasoning blend takes those earthy flavors and combines it with a light and bright citrus aftertaste to add depth and complexity.

Umami is one of the most versatile seasoning blends. Vegan-friendly, it goes well with grains such as rice and quinoa, tossed with tofu, sprinkled over baked kale, and added to noodles and salads. Try it sprinkled over grilled asparagus or avocado toast! For the omnivores out there, umami makes a delicious crust on steak, chicken, and fish. For those into athletics, such as weight training or yoga, our umami seasoning blend can be used as a dietary supplement. Simply add 1/4 - 1 teaspoon to your meals 2-3 times daily.
